DESCRIPTION:Beginner Conformation is offered to all dogs whose owners want to learn handling skills. In a fun\, relaxed environment\, we will discuss show terminology\, ring etiquette and what to expect at dog shows. Students will learn how to stack and gait their dog as well as basic patterns. No prior experience is required\, and novice handlers are highly encouraged to attend. All dogs over 4 months of age are welcome to attend. \n\nFocuses on Stand-stay\, learning ring procedure\, and what to expect at a show.\nOpen to all. New/novice handlers encouraged to attend this class.\nLots of discussion and practice on how to properly and defectively exhibit their dog.\nWe have a stacking table for small dogs.\nWe do not have a ramp.\n\n“The conformation classes held the past 4 weeks with Kelly have been outstanding!!! She has taught me more in 4 weeks than any other teacher has taught me about dog handling. She is patient\, kind\, and knowledgeable. SUMMARY:Puppy Preschool
DESCRIPTION:Puppy preschool is for puppies 8 – 12 weeks old. \n \nPuppy Preschool is a socialization experience for puppies 8-12 weeks old. Puppies are allowed to interact off leash with a variety of other puppies and people\, while we discuss the importance of this critical developmental and socialization period. In addition\, we will talk about the challenges new puppy owners face when dealing with play biting\, as well as crate and potty training. You don’t want to miss out on this important first step in your puppy’s life-long learning carrier\, so register online today! \nBetween 9 – 11 weeks of age is a very sensitive period for puppies. \nPuppy Preschool Schedule\nSaturdays 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. \n$25 per class or 1 punch on Class Pass \nWhen your puppy is at or over 12 weeks of age you will proceed to the Puppy Training Class after you’ve attended an Orientation. \n \nOrientation\nThe next step towards attending group classes is to attend an Orientation. This prerequisite two hour session will provide the information necessary to prepare you for group classes. We will discuss training terms and equipment\, dog behavior and socialization\, and class structure so that you are able to jump into classes right away. You will receive a packet with the Misty Pines Training Manual as well as other informational materials. Orientations are offered once a month on Wednesday evenings from 7 – 9pm. The Orientation is $75\, classes are $25 each. Please pre-register via our online store or by calling our office at 412.364.4122. DESCRIPTION:Puppy training classes are for puppies 6 months and younger. \nPuppy Training Classes are crucial for teaching social skills\, good manners\, and a positive attitude about learning and are a great way to begin a happy and healthy relationship with your puppy. They are designed to teach you\, as the puppy owner\, how to properly socialize and teach your puppy basic commands\, agility obstacles and good manners. Our classes are educational and entertaining for your whole family and will keep you and your dog mentally and physically engaged during each class. You will learn how to take your dog through real-life challenges with confidence. \n \nOrientation\nThe first step towards attending group classes is to attend an Orientation. This prerequisite session will provide the information necessary to prepare you for group classes.
