The first step towards attending group dog training classes is to attend an Orientation. This prerequisite session will provide the information necessary to prepare you for group classes. We will discuss training terms and equipment, dog behavior and socialization, and class structure so that you are able to jump into classes right away. You will also receive a packet of information along with the Misty Pines Training Handbook. After attending the Orientation, pups under six months will enter into Puppy Classes, and dogs over six months will enter into Level I. Puppy and Starter Orientations are offered once a month. The registration fee is $75 for the Orientation and $25 for each Group Class, or you may purchase a Class Pass. Class Passes are “pre-paid” punch cards with 10 punches on them. The cost is $225 which gives you a free class with the purchase of 9 classes. Please pre-register for either of the Dog Training Orientations by calling in or clicking the appropriate link below.

Group Dog Training Classes
Group dog training classes provide the unique benefit of socialization with other dogs and people. Our group classes are informative and educational, as well as entertaining for your whole family. Exposing your dog to many new dogs and people at an early age will help him become a friendly, well-socialized pet. The fenced in Dog Park is included in the group class price on the days you attend class, which gives you more opportunity to socialize your dog.
All of our classes integrate agility obstacles into the obedience training. This builds confidence and trust in both the dog and handler. We incorporate real life situations for your dog to work through. They will learn to behave around children playing, riding bicycles, and bouncing balls. After approximately 15 classes, owners and their dogs are generally ready to graduate to the next class level.
Misty Pines dog training classes are ongoing every week throughout the year. Each class level is scheduled several times every week. After attending Orientation you can come for class as often as you need to. You can continue coming to classes as your dog grows up and goes through the challenging phases of his life.
Recommended Training Tools for Group Classes
All jobs need the right tools. Misty Pines recommends you have the items below when attending our group or private classes. If there is a specific training tool you would like to use but is not on this list, please discuss it with your trainer.
- 6 foot leash (Retractable leashes are not permitted on the premises)
- Bait Bag
- Training Collar (Scruffy Guider or head halters are preferred, but not required)
Don’t miss this opportunity to positively imprint your puppy! We have Puppy Preschool for those pups between 7 and 12 weeks old who have had at least the first round of vaccinations (with the exception of rabies at this age). Everyone is welcome – kids, adults, those looking for puppies, and anyone who would like to play!
