Flirt Pole

Flirt Pole is an excellent compound exercise that maximizes training and exercise efficiency. It simply involves engaging the dog with a lure(a rope or a fuzzy toy) attached to the end of a line attached to a pole that is moved and manipulated by a handler. This game gives the dog great compound exercise chasing it, and also can be utilized as a training reward when they catch and grab it. When done properly, the catching of the lure is used for a reward for many behaviors. The Flirt Pole exercise and training game can teach dogs impulse control, provides mental stimulation, and physical compound exercise that many dogs love, and it is great FUN!

This activity can be scheduled at Misty Pines while your dog is here for a “day of school and care” or while boarding. Cost is $25 per session.

Flirt Poles are available in our store for $16.99. The benefit of using a Flirt Pole at home is that this exercise can be done in a small space indoors or outdoors.

Vaccination Requirements for All Services at Misty Pines Pet Company: All dogs must be current on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella (Bordetella every 6 months) vaccinations. The Leptosporosis (Lepto/L) vaccine is not required, however, Misty Pines highly recommends that your dog receives it. All pets must have received inoculations at least 10 days prior to their visit to Misty Pines. The waiting period will allow your dog to build sufficient immunity to the vaccinations which will make your dog less susceptible to catching or transferring any unwanted viruses. This includes new and updated vaccinations. Your pet cannot be over due for vaccinations - NO EXCEPTIONS. For example, if your pet is scheduled to visit Misty Pines on May 14 and received vaccinations on May 6, we cannot accept your pet due to the insufficient 10 day waiting period. Please bring vaccination records with you or fax to the Misty Pines office at 412-367-7387.
